Manage your credit cards and other payment methods
Money deposited to your Impact Account is charged to your credit card. Here's how to manage your payment methods.
Don’t have an Impact Account? Learn how to update your credit card details.
Add a payment method
On the web:
- Select your avatar in the top-right corner of your dashboard, then select Settings.
- Select Payment methods in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the Add more button.
- Fill out your credit card information.
- If you want to make this credit card the default, check off Set as default card.
- Select Add.
On the mobile app:
- Select Account from the bottom menu.
- Select Payment methods from the top menu.
- Select Add new card to add a new card.
- Fill out your credit card information. If you wish to make that card your primary card, select Set as primary card and then select Done.
Note:
If you wish to edit credit card details or delete a credit card, select the Edit or Delete buttons.
Edit or delete a payment method
On the web:
- Select your avatar in the top-right corner of your dashboard, then select Profile settings.
- Select Payment methods in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the pencil icon to Edit or Delete your card.
- If editing, update the information and select Save.
- If deleting, select Delete again to confirm.
Note:
If you want to delete a credit card that is linked to an active monthly deposit, you'll need to edit your monthly deposit first.
Updating credit card details for monthly gifts made without an Impact Account
If you don’t have an Impact Account but need to update the credit card details for your monthly gift, you will need to cancel your monthly gift first and then set it up again with the new credit card.
Note that new monthly gifts created on Charitable Impact now require you to sign up for an Impact Account. Having an Impact Account enables you to easily manage your gifts, access your tax receipts, and update your credit card details without having to cancel and recreate your monthly gifts.
If you’re making a donation using a donation button on a charity or fundraising webpage (outside of charitableimpact.com), you can set up a new monthly gift with new credit card details without having to sign up for an Impact Account
