Claim your charity page

When you claim your charity page on Charitable Impact, you get access to a Charity Account where you can do things like:

• Customize your charity page on Charitable Impact with a logo and description 
• Set up direct deposit to receive gifts faster
• Thank and engage with your supporters 
• Create Giving Groups and Campaigns to raise money for your charity's initiatives
• Add a donation button to your charity website to accept donations through Charitable Impact

Your Charity Account and Impact Account

To claim your charity page, you'll need to sign up for an Impact Account if you don't already have one. Once your charity page is claimed, you can access it through your Impact Account. These accounts are linked together, so you can use the same email and password to log in to both.

Your Impact Account is a personal account that you can use to manage your own charitable giving or use tools like Giving Groups to conduct fundraisers. On the other hand, your Charity Account gives you administrative access to customize and manage your charity page, download reports, and thank donors.

You can also invite additional admins to join your Charity Account, each with their own personal Impact Account and access to the Charity Account using their own login credentials. This allows multiple people to securely manage the Charity Account without sharing login information. You can add or remove admins from the Charity Account at any time.

Claim with an access code

If you’ve received a gift from a donor on Charitable Impact in the past, a cheque would have been mailed with a letter that includes an access code. You can claim your charity page using this access code. 

1. Go to the Claim Charity page and enter the access code. Select Claim your charity.
2. Create an Impact Account if you don't already have one. Otherwise, log in to your existing Impact Account. Your Charity Account is accessible from your Home screen.

You can now customize your charity page, access donor and gift information, activate direct deposit, and invite additional admins to manage your Charity Account with you.

Claim without an access code

1. Email us at hello@charitableimpact.com with the name and registration number of the charity you wish to claim.
2. We complete a manual verification process in order to grant administrative privileges to the charity page. To speed up the process, please ensure that you provide us with one of the following pieces of information:
   • An email that is listed on your charity's Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) profile online as the “Charity Email Address”.
   • A link to the charity’s official website that confirms your email’s association with the charity. This website should be displayed on CRA’s listing for your charity as the “Charity Website Address”.
   • A letter signed by a current Director/Trustee that authorizes your email to access the charity page. (Please note that the Director/Trustee must be named on the most recent T3010 report found on CRA’s listing for your charity.)
3. We will send an invitation to the verified email for you to claim your charity. If you don't have an Impact Account, you will be prompted to sign up for one. Otherwise, you can just log in to your Impact Account. Your Charity Account is accessible from your Home screen.

You can now customize your charity page, access donor and gift information, activate direct deposit, and invite additional admins to manage your Charity Account with you.
